Choosing a photographer that you are comfortable with is important. Here are a few common questions. Please feel free to contact me if any of your questions were not answered.

Q: What location do you use for your portrait sessions?

A: Location of your shoot will set the mood. The images will be focused on you, but the background adds texture, color, lines and light. In general I shoot in a nature or urban location. Nature spots are parks, open fields, treed or garden areas. They work great for playing and having fun with each other. Urban spots are cool alleys or buildings, the city's landscape. They provide great color and texture.

Q: What should we wear?

A: There are no certain rules on what to wear during your shoot. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, and like yourself. Coordinating your outfits shows that you are a group or a family that belongs together. This doesn't mean everyone has to match, think about the style of clothing and colors. Pick something that is flattering to your body and to the color of your skin tone. Mixing patterns is not recommended (polka dots and plaid). I recommend picking one or two colors, and select outfits/shirts of the different shades of those colors (example: shades of blue and gray). Or picking an outfit with a bold pattern and picking colors that match the pattern's colors. (Example: White dress with yellow and purple flowers, and the others wearing shades of yellow and purple to compliment the pattern)

Q: How long do the sessions last?

A: Sessions last roughly an hour depending on the number of locations and outfit changes. Sometimes with little ones they can last a little longer or a little less. Kids need more attention and play time when taking photos. Come prepared with snacks and a toy that comforts them.

Q: What happens after we take the photos?

A:  Your photos will be fully edited and color corrected. You will receive a code to access your photos online 4-6 weeks after your session.

Q: How many pictures do we receive?

A: A 1 hour session will be delivered with an average 80-125 pictures (average a 100 photos per hour depending on the group size). Weddings come with an 8GB USB drive. Depending on the portfolio you selected 500-1000. I am constantly snapping pictures while we are together!

Q: How can I order professional products?

A: Within your online album you can create a favorites folder, share on social media, and order products. You can select the photos you want to purchase, choose the product, and order it within minutes. Shipping is quick and the products are high quality and professional. My personal favorite products are the Metal Prints, Flat Book with round edges, and Pearl Printed Photos. If you ever need assistance in what kind of products to choose from or how to order feel free to contact me for help!

Q: Do you have back up equipment?

A: I have two full frame professional Nikon DSLR cameras. I often carry two cameras for easy access to switch out of different lenses, but I also have two cameras in case of an incident that my equipment is damaged. All equipment is insured.

Q: What is your primary style?

A: I like to utilize natural lighting and sit back with my long lens and capture "kodak" moments. I have a journalistic style with a creative twist. I like to use fun props, different angles and have bright and vivid images. I also take the traditional portraits where everyone says "CHEESE!" I'll discuss with my clients what kind of style they like before we shoot so we are on the same page. If you have a pinterest board with photos, it is always helpful to review those photos.
