The thing I love most about photography is it reminds us of a place and time. It gives our memories details. A photograph is powerful enough to bring you back to feelings, sounds, and even smells of a moment. I believe there are things nobody would ever see or feel unless I photograph it.
I’m Amy Payne. Photography has been a big part of my life for the last decade and a half.
I FELL IN LOVE WITH PHOTOGRAPHY during my freshman year in high school. I had a teacher that saw my talent and guided me into shooting for the school newspaper and yearbook. I loved photographing all of the personalities in our high school. I haven't put a camera down since. I attended Ball State University to study Advertising and held an internship at Knoodle Advertising in Phoenix Arizona and was later hired as a Creative Director Assistant. I moved back home to end my semester studying abroad in Italy - rough life I know! I finished with a B.S. in Advertising.
I LOVE MY JOB because it is always different. I have the honor of being a historian by documenting events, people, and places. Documenting a new family member, or annual family portraits that are priceless heirlooms as the years go on. I photograph many types of events such as weddings, conferences, programs and exhibit openings at the Indiana State Museum and Conner Prairie. Some of my favorite events today are Lunafest, Charlie Puth meet and greet, Governor Holcomb press conference, Induction of the Indy 500 Hall of Fame, a ball pit photo booth and marketing images to promote a winter program in July - outside - in coats with Christmas trees and lots of sweat!
I LOVE OUTDOORS I try not to take my camera, but I can't help it, I always regret not bringing it along, even if it's bulky to carry. I am a coffee addict, my favorite coffee is Dark Matter Coffee - try it out if you haven't! At home you can find me sitting in my Lovesac with my cat, Edgar, cuddled next to me. I love to run, I have a goal to run a Half Marathon in every state!
